Nwayabuife “Ify” Obiagwu is a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with nearly two decades of nursing experience. She began her career as a registered nurse in 2007 and has cared for patients across pediatrics, critical care, home health, community health, and psychiatry. This broad clinical background allows her to approach mental health with a deep understanding of the whole person—body, mind, and environment.

At FreeMind Psychiatry, Ify provides comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and ongoing support for children, teens, and adults. Her clinical focus includes ADHD, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, PTSD, trauma-related conditions, mood disorders, and stress-related challenges.

She also incorporates GeneSight® pharmacogenomic testing to help guide medication choices and QbCheck® ADHD evaluations to support clearer, more objective assessments. Her care is evidence-based, culturally sensitive, and personalized to each patient’s goals, values, and lifestyle.

Ify believes that mental health care should be collaborative and compassionate. She takes time to listen to each patient’s story, educates them about their options, and partners with them to create a realistic, sustainable plan for healing and growth.

Through secure telepsychiatry, FreeMind Psychiatry currently serves patients in Texas and is expanding to Washington, Oregon, Virginia, Arkansas, and Alaska, making high-quality mental health care more accessible to individuals and families across multiple states.
